Download DiDi app and select English as your language

Register with your international phone number and verify via SMS

Add your international credit/debit card as payment method

Set your pickup location (GPS auto-detects) or type/paste an address

Enter your destination — you can type in English or paste Chinese characters

Choose car type (Express for budget, Premier for comfort) and tap "Call a ride"

Wait for driver match — you'll see driver name, car model, plate number, and ETA

Pro Tips
- Save your hotel address in Chinese characters — show it to drivers if they call confused about your location
- DiDi has an "International" version for tourists — make sure you download the correct one
- Peak hours (8-9AM, 5-7PM) have surge pricing — plan accordingly or wait 10 minutes
- Always verify the license plate before getting in — don't rely on the driver's photo alone
- If the driver calls and you don't speak Chinese, use DiDi's built-in translation feature
- For airport rides, drivers may ask you to walk to a specific pickup zone — follow the in-app map
- You can share your trip status with emergency contacts via the Safety Center
