Search "WeChat" on App Store or Google Play, download and install

Open WeChat, tap "Sign Up", register with your phone number (international numbers supported)

Set your password and profile picture, complete basic info

Add friends: scan QR codes, search by WeChat ID or phone number, or use "People Nearby"

Set up WeChat Pay: tap "Me" → "Services" → "Wallet", link an international credit card (Visa/Mastercard) or Chinese bank card

First payment requires real-name verification: upload your passport photo as prompted

Try paying at a convenience store: tap "+" → "Scan" to scan the merchant's QR code
